Ingredients
- 1 Spicito taco seasoning packet (1 oz)
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 2 cups uncooked small pasta (shells, elbows, rotini, etc.)
- 2 cups water or broth
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- Optional: 1 can (10–15 oz) diced tomatoes or tomato sauce
- Optional: sour cream and sliced green onion for serving
Directions
- In a large, deep skillet, brown ground meat over medium-high heat and drain if necessary.
- Add 1 taco seasoning packet and 2/3 cup water. Stir and simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in uncooked pasta, 2 cups water or broth, and diced tomatoes or tomato sauce if using.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Turn off heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve warm, topped with a dollop of sour cream and sliced green onion if desired.
